Atmanirbhar Bharat in Action: Industry's Role in Strengthening National Security

In the wake of India’s robust response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor has underscored not just military precision but also the vital role of India’s homegrown defence industry. The swift neutralization of cross-border threats reflects the nation’s growing defence preparedness, enabled in no small part by industry leaders like Ananth Technologies and Solar Industries India Limited, both esteemed SIA-India members.

SIA-India members, such as Ananth Technologies and Solar Industries India Limited, have stood out for their significant contributions during this critical time. Ananth Technologies, already recognized for its pioneering work in satellite systems and aerospace electronics, has further cemented its reputation by supporting advanced defence technologies that were integral to recent operations. Solar Industries, a leader in defence consumables, ensured uninterrupted supply of critical munitions, underlining the importance of a robust domestic defence manufacturing ecosystem.

As the spotlight shines on Atmanirbhar Bharat, these contributions exemplify how Indian industry is not only rising to the occasion but also shaping the very architecture of national security. SIA-India salutes its members for their enduring commitment to safeguarding India’s sovereign interests through innovation, reliability, and unwavering support.

TRAI sets Satcom spectrum fee at 4% of revenues, extra ₹500 for urban users

"SIA-India welcomes TRAI’s progressive recommendations on satellite-based spectrum assignment as a pivotal step towards building an inclusive and future-ready digital infrastructure. The administrative allocation model, performance-linked AGR-based spectrum fee, and targeted exemptions for rural and remote users reflect a bold policy direction that supports affordability, scalability, and equitable access. By enabling flexible use of key satellite bands, aligning with DOT and IN-SPACe guidelines, and safeguarding national security through domestic gateway mandates, these recommendations lay the groundwork for accelerated satellite broadband deployment. This will be instrumental in bridging the digital divide, connecting underserved regions, and realizing the vision of Digital India and BharatNet."
