Air Marshal Gurcharan Singh Bedi, AVSM, VM, VSM, is a distinguished retired officer of the Indian Air Force with a career marked by exemplary service and leadership. Serving as the Director General of Inspection and Flight Safety from February 1, 2021, he succeeded Air Marshal Manavendra Singh in this crucial role. Air Marshal Bedi is an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College and the National Defence College, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Commissioned as a fighter pilot on June 8, 1984, Air Marshal Bedi boasts a remarkable career spanning over 37 years. With over 3,700 hours of flying experience, he is a qualified flying instructor and a seasoned fighter combat leader. His leadership extends to various command roles, including the command of front-line bases and participation in peacekeeping missions, notably in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Prior to his pivotal role as the Director General of Inspection and Flight Safety, Air Marshal Bedi served as the Senior Air Staff Officer of Eastern Air Command, demonstrating his multifaceted expertise and dedication to the Indian Air Force.
